My creative vision has to cross and intersect those of the client -- for success to occur.

  • My style is single point perspective, geometric, strong, and relies heavily upon the grid.
  • The forms of the space will define what is framed.
  • Verticals stay vertical, images are tack sharp and post production is minimal.
  • The forms of mid-Century Modernism inspire my work, and I'm a fan of Shulman, Blessing and the masters of Bauhaus.

Fees are customized as no two jobs are the same, but most local Architectural work can be accommodated in a 4 hour - 1/2 day block of time.  If travel is required more than 80 miles then a full day will usually be needed.

I don't use large lights - or have complicated setups - I stay lean with a tripod, body and a bag full of lenses and small flashes.  Long exposures combined with high f-Stops with an "injection" of light to the scene balances out the shadows.

Sizing up a space for a shoot is one of my strengths, as I am very deliberate and confident with my framing.   The final product needs to be sharp as a Tack - composed with balance and framed in camera as the eye disects - "sharpness", "Highlights" and then "composition" - in that order.  The use of Photoshop is usually not needed in my workflow as I get everything in camera - and I am proud of that.

Licensing - my licensing metric is usually very liberal for the client and consists of a "non-exclusive" clause and 2-year license.  Licensing is a revenue stream and a means of protecting creative content.

This brings up the final question -- how much ?  I understand this is a very competitive market - yet I have to be motivated not only to produce a product without peer, but also be passionate to satisfy the needs of the client; and that comes from fees.  I always quote an assigment so there are no surprises for both parties.
